The idea came to me several years ago when the Million Man March on Washington took place, and nothing happened. I was with a friend and said, I bet every man there spent at least $1,000.00 to get to Washington, to stay, buy food, get gas, get home.
So, the idea of a Million Women March, from home was born. Each woman giving a one-time donation of $1,000.00, staying home and endowing that money would create a Billion-dollar endowment. The annual proceeds would be significant, and we could fund (a four legged stool) education, health, public policy and financial literacy. It would also give women the ability to use our buying power and our financial power for getting seats on paid boards, have a voice at the table, it is about the money, and women have not been at that table.
